Stopgap Dance Company is a professional touring and education company based in the United Kingdom and is a global leader in disability access in dance.

In this online workshop led by Stopgap's Co-Artistic Director, Laura Jones, participants will explore methods of movement translation. Teachers will be equipped with fresh ideas and insights into how working with the intention of movement can support disabled and non-disabled dancers to engage in dance training and develop individual skills.

Expand your knowledge around movement translation and creating an accessible dance environment within a supportive learning space. While we will reference the Rambert Grades syllabus exercises, the session is open to all. The insights shared will benefit practitioners across dance education and performance, and can be applied to any dance style and material.

Workshop aims:

· To provide tools for utilising and interpreting the intention of movement to be relevant for disabled and non-disabled dancers

· To develop confidence in using appropriate language

· To explore examples of movement translation using Rambert Grades syllabus exercises

Participants are welcome to ask questions relating to their students or individual practice, including the use of Reasonable Adjustment for Examinations.
